Abstract

Abstract : Aging is characterized by a progressive loss of physiological integrity, leading to impaired function and increased vulnerability to death &/or increased morbidity. The proclaimed telomere(definition) attrition, cellular senescence(definition))." style="text-decoration:underline dotted; text-underline-offset:2px; cursor:help;">hallmarks of aging(definition) are genomic instability, telomere attrition, epigenetic alterations, loss of proteostasis(definition), deregulated nutrient sensing, mitochondrial dysfunction(definition), cellular senescence, stem cell exhaustion, and altered intercellular communication. The final goal is of identifying pharmaceutical targets to improve human health during aging, with minimal side effects. Senescence means the period of decline that follows the development phase in an organism's life. Preventive measures and lifestyle modifications can delay the process of senescence. A variety of processes of senescence have been evaluated to achieve this goal. Keywords: Aging, Senescence, Proteostasis
