Abstract

🌌 LONGEVITY FACTORS & HEALTHSPAN(definition) TECHNOLOGIES AT THE LIMIT This is a large-scale research volume exploring the frontier of longevity factors, healthspan technologies, geroscience, and translational engineering. Its central premise is simple: Living longer is not the only objective. The deeper goal is to create more years of healthy, capable, resilient, and recoverable life. The book approaches aging not as a single mechanism, but as a multi-scale biological system involving molecular damage, repair, adaptive responses, metabolism, immunity, regeneration, tissue ecology, behavior, and environment. From this foundation, the research expands across biological aging, epigenetic clocks, cellular senescence(definition), autophagy(definition), mitochondrial biology, NAD and metabolic regulation, stem cells, regenerative medicine, immune aging, the microbiome, gene and RNA technologies, and emerging intervention platforms. It then moves further into AI-assisted longevity drug discovery, personal longevity digital twins, organoids and tissue chips, single-cell and spatial aging atlases, causal inference, clinical trial architecture, safety, manufacturing, regulation, accessibility, and long-horizon healthspan infrastructure. Rather than treating animal lifespan extension, biomarker changes, functional outcomes, and demonstrated human lifespan extension as interchangeable forms of evidence, this book deliberately separates them and examines the translational gaps between each level. These Research Gates are not presented as final answers. They are deliberately preserved unknowns β€” questions that future researchers can reopen, challenge, test, falsify, connect, and transform into new research programs. This is therefore not a book claiming that humanity has solved longevity. It is a research map of the frontier: from mechanisms, to measurement; from measurement, to evidence; from evidence, to safe translation; and from what we currently know, back into the unknown. The objective is not to eliminate uncertainty. It is to transform uncertainty into something researchable.
