Immune Resilience: Rewriting the Rules of Healthy Aging.

Abstract

Aging is typically framed by disease, not resilience. This Perspective highlights immune resilience (IR) as a core determinant of healthy aging, based on new findings linking TCF7-driven immune profiles to extended healthspan(definition) and lifespan. IR buffers against immunosenescence, inflammaging(definition), and senescent cell phenotypes, with benefits most pronounced before age 70. By reframing aging around salutogenesis rather than pathogenesis, this work shifts the focus toward resilience mechanisms and composite traits preserving health.
