Abstract

Regular exercise is a cornerstone of healthy longevity. Exercise has numerous effects on aging mechanisms, including telomere(definition) integrity, mitochondrial function, genomic stability, and inflammatory processes. The literature contains studies investigating the effects of various types of exercise on lifespan and quality of life. Current evidence suggests that exercise regulates key biological pathways, reduces the risk of sarcopenia, and brings about positive changes in major systems. On the other hand, it is emphasized that to enhance the positive effects of exercise on healthy longevity, exercise programs need to be tailored to the individual and comprehensively designed. This study aims to comprehensively examine the relationship between exercise and longevity in light of scientific evidence.
