Abstract

Aging is a complex, multifactorial biological process characterized by the progressive decline of physiological functions and increased susceptibility to diseases. Recent advances in molecular biology, genetics, and systems biology have deepened our understanding of the mechanisms that drive aging, including genomic instability, telomere(definition) attrition, epigenetic alterations, and mitochondrial dysfunction(definition). This article synthesizes current insights into the senescence(definition))." style="text-decoration:underline dotted; text-underline-offset:2px; cursor:help;">hallmarks of aging(definition), the interplay between aging and chronic diseases, and emerging interventions aimed at promoting healthy longevity. It also explores translational implications for age-related disease prevention and regenerative medicine.
