Abstract

Abstract Altered intercellular communication is one of the molecular telomere(definition) attrition, cellular senescence(definition))." style="text-decoration:underline dotted; text-underline-offset:2px; cursor:help;">hallmarks of aging(definition). Microvesicles carrying different kinds of molecules, like proteins and RNAs are important agents of short- and long-range communication in the body. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are especially interesting targets to study in this context, as these molecules can regulate multiple targets in the recipient cells via complementary base-pair binding and thereby regulate a complex process such as aging.
